The New York Times reported increasing criticism from several Met patrons. Julie Menin, a New York City Council speaker and prominent Jewish figure, called the exhibition “a mistake” in a letter to Met director Max Hollein, Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton, and Anna Wintour.
