Italian Chamber of Deputies schedules hearings on juvenile accountability and EU proposals

On Wednesday, 7 October, Chamber committees will hear representatives and officials on proposed changes to juvenile criminal responsibility and several European Union legislative proposals.

What is happening

The Justice Committee will hear the National Association of Magistrates, the Union of Italian Criminal Chambers, two juvenile prosecutors, and the National Council of the Order of Psychologists from 3:00 p.m. The European Affairs Committee will hear representatives of Proxigas, the Personal Data Protection Authority, ECCO Think Tank, Federchimica, ARERA and ENI on energy bills, Eurojust, Europol, emissions trading and related EU proposals, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The hearings will be broadcast on the Chamber’s web TV.

Why is it on the Radar?

The hearings are part of the parliamentary examination of proposed legislation and the assessment of whether several EU proposals comply with the principle of subsidiarity.
