Ernesto Magorno was named president, Angelo Alessandri vice president and Paola Carnevale treasurer. The founders include Alessandri, Gianni Pino, Leonardo Grimani, Carnevale, Paolo Amenta, Magorno, Tommaso Barbato, Roberto Bernardelli and Fabio Venturi. Speakers described the movement as civic and territorially cross-party, while sources report different descriptions of its political orientation: AGI refers to its links with the centre-right, and la Repubblica describes it as looking to the right. The movement is inspired by subsidiarity and the role of municipalities. Its national assembly is scheduled for 27–29 October.

Why is it on the Radar?

The movement says it intends to address political disengagement and declining voter turnout by relying on citizens’ trust in local administrators. Its members also highlighted financial, staffing and climate-related difficulties facing municipalities and called for reforms and more concrete responses from national politics.
