Schlein told Meloni to “go home,” saying that the government had achieved nothing in four years and had wasted its parliamentary majority. She cited record taxes, stagnant wages, high energy costs, rising poverty and pressure on the health service. Meloni replied that Schlein had taken nearly two weeks to answer a question and said her response contained falsehoods. Schlein also said the PD was the strongest party in the coalition and warned that it was “generous, not naïve.” She reaffirmed support for Ukraine against Russia’s aggression.
