What is happening
The incident reportedly occurred yesterday on Via Mascarella and involved 29-year-old poet Giorgiomaria Cornelio and two friends. According to the report, a man shouted insults including “faggots” and “foreigners, we’ll kill you.” The newspaper describes it as the third such episode in Bologna in a few days.
Why is it on the Radar?
The report presents the incident as a possible sign of a broader climate, quoting Cornelio as calling it a “bad symptom of the political climate.”
