In his opening address to the Italian Bishops’ Conference’s Permanent Episcopal Council, Zuppi said recent episodes of violence should prompt renewed engagement in education. He called for action against inequalities linked to birthplace, economic or physical condition, and social context, and said proximity and support should be reflected in culture, laws, and political and economic choices.
