What is happening
Foreign students in Italy number nearly one million, but according to la Repubblica, only about one third could be affected by the new rule. The regions most involved are Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna.
Why is it on the Radar?
The decree would target a limited portion of foreign students rather than all students without Italian citizenship, excluding those with European citizenship.
