He thanked the doctors and staff at Rome’s Gemelli Polyclinic and said he would explain the medical journey he faces in the coming weeks. He had fallen ill in Cuba on August 28, was hospitalized there, and returned to Italy by medical aircraft on September 12 before being transferred to the Gemelli Polyclinic.
