What is happening
The European Commission announced several events at InnoTrans 2026. On 23 September, UNIFE will host a panel on ERTMS innovation and deployment costs, while Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking will lead a discussion on harmonising digital signalling. On 24 September, UNIFE will hold a Dialog Forum on ERTMS success stories and future outlook. EU institutions will also present discussions at their stand in Hall 4.2.
Why is it on the Radar?
The event will provide a forum for stakeholders to exchange views on ERTMS rollout, railway digitalisation, interoperability and ways to reduce the costs and complexity of modernising Europe’s railways.
