How RadarPolitico works
RadarPolitico is an automated political monitoring service with priority given to Italian national politics. It collects selected sources, identifies topics and political figures, groups related events and uses algorithms and artificial intelligence to make information easier to understand.
Source collection
RadarPolitico periodically checks selected institutional, political and information sources. Sources are enabled only when technical access and usage conditions are compatible with the service.
Political filtering
Collected content is automatically classified to distinguish politics, institutions, statements and relevant topics from sports, entertainment, non-political news and other material.
National priority
Italian politics has editorial priority. Government, Parliament, parties, ministers, political leaders and major national issues receive greater weight. European developments remain visible when politically relevant.
Political figures and topics
The system automatically identifies mentioned political figures and associates each item with relevant topics. This allows politician and topic pages to build a historical record over time.
Radar Score
The Radar Score measures the presence and relevance of a topic within the monitored dataset, taking into account frequency, freshness, source diversity and other algorithmic signals.
Event clustering
Items concerning the same event are grouped into a Radar story. The aim is to avoid presenting multiple reports about the same development as separate events.
Artificial intelligence
When enabled, AI generates headlines and summaries using only sources explicitly permitted as AI input. News sources configured only as headline/link signals are not used as source text for generation.
Historical archive
Content progressively feeds the weekly archive, topic pages, politician pages and the Yearbook. Over time this makes it possible to see which topics and political figures appeared most frequently in the Radar.
What RadarPolitico measures — and what it does not
- The Radar Score is not an opinion poll.
- A politician’s position on the Radar does not measure approval, popularity or voting intentions.
- An official political source represents the position of the organization publishing it and is not treated as independent journalism.
- RadarPolitico does not alter ownership of original content: each item retains a link to its source.
The system updates automatically every 20 minutes during its daily operating window. The time shown for individual items comes, when available, from the publication date supplied by the original source.
